Santa Paws & Claws: A night for dogs to see holiday lights!

Visit the Humane Society of West Michigan to enjoy a festive holiday lights display, drink hot coco, and have your kids/dogs take a photo with Santa! ($10 minimum donation for a Santa photo).

*Saturday, December 14th  | 4:30-7:30: We are opening this event to reactive dogs and their families. Limited timeslots are available and you must choose one to attend. All pups should be able to experience the magic of the holidays!

*Saturday, December 14th | 7:30-9:30: Event is open to the public and dogs who will do well in large groups.

Reactive Dog Accommodations (December 14th 4:30-7:30 ONLY).

Each reactive dog and their family will have a reserved 15-minute timeframe to walk through the lights. Then you will have the opportunity to purchase hot coco and have your kids/pets/yourself take a photo with Santa! (Photos with Santa require a $10 minimum donation)

  • The lights display will have a one-way path, so no dog will be permitted to turn around on the pathway.
  • Dogs will be spaced at least 15 minutes apart to ensure there is ample space between them.
  • A phone number will be required to reserve your 15-minute timeslot. Please wait in your car upon arrival and park in the lot across the street from the shelter. You will receive a text when your reservation time is about to begin and can then proceed to the welcome table at the lights.
  • Santa photos will be limited to 10-15 minutes to ensure the next dog and family have ample time and space to approach and enjoy the magic.

Requirements For All Attendees

  • Please note, retractable leashes are NOT permitted. If you have a retractable leash upon arrival, a regular leash will be provided, and you will be required to switch them. Failure to switch to the provided non-retractable leash will result in immediate dismissal from the event.
