Routine Veterinary Care at a Reduced Cost
Humane Society of West Michigan is committed to supporting pets and their owners across West Michigan. To support pet health and improve access to care, our shelter offers reduced-cost vaccination clinics throughout the year. Clinics provide core vaccinations, heartworm and flea/tick prevention products, and microchipping services.
To serve as many community members as possible, HSWM offers two distinct types of clinics:
(1) Paw-blic Health Days: A reduced-cost clinic open to all members of the public, regardless of income level.
(2) Outreach Clinics: Income-based clinics exclusively available to individuals receiving government assistance and/or earning less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. Services at these clinics are offered at a significant discount. To qualify for a Community Clinic, you will need to provide a photo ID plus one of the following low-income status documents:

(2) Outreach Clinics: Income-based clinics exclusively available to individuals receiving government assistance and/or earning less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. Services at these clinics are offered at a significant discount. To qualify for a Community Clinic, you will need to provide a photo ID plus one of the following low-income status documents:
- MDHHS Food Assistance program - annual letter of qualification dated within the last 12 months.
- Medicaid or Medical Assistance letter of qualification
- Social Security Disability or Retirement letter of qualification
- Unemployment statement
- 2 recent pay stubs, for all working members of the household, showing less than 200% Federal Poverty Level (Proof of income for ALL residents of the household required. Less than 200% is based on all residents living in the home. Details can be found online by searching: "federal poverty guidelines 2021")

Requirements for All Clinic Participants
Regardless of which clinic you sign up for, HSWM maintains the following requirements for all clinic participants:
- All clinics are by appointment only.
- Age Limits:
- Paw-blic Health Day animal participants must be 8 weeks or older.
- Outreach Clinic animal participants must be 6 months or older.
- All clinics require a $10 non-refundable exam fee to hold your spot.
- All cats must be in carriers, and dogs must be on non-retractable leashes to participate. Dogs may be required to be muzzled before leaving your car for the safety of our vet staff.
- There is a limit of 5 pets per household
- All participating pets in the Outreach Clinic program must be spayed or neutered. If you need assistance getting your pet fixed, please contact our team at [email protected] for available resources and support.

- Do NOT bring your animal into the building upon arrival. You will be instructed when to do so by a staff member or volunteer.
