Humane Society of West Michigan knows the importance of educating children through experience. We offer camps throughout the year to educate children on animal welfare, as well as giving them an enjoyable experience. Through games, crafts, animal time, and more your child will learn life lessons and have a fun filled experience that will be with them for a lifetime!
VIRTUAL Humane University (Humane U): Summer Camp 2020
HSWM’s summer camp is going virtual! If your child loves animals and needs something to do this summer – look no further than Humane University from Humane Society of West Michigan!
In order to protect the health and safety of our campers, staff, and animals, we have made the difficult decision to move our camp to an online platform. We still plan to offer all of the same fun and educational programs that we would typically do in person but now virtually!
COST: One full-week camp is $100 per child, and $25 for any additional siblings in the household who would also like to participate. We will provide your camper with a camp kit for the week including a camp t-shirt and all of the supplies they will need, as well as provide virtual programming for 40 hours of camp activities!
WHEN: Camps run weekly from June 8th through August 28th. As in the past, this year’s camp will be a huge hit and lots of fun for kids of all ages with games, crafts, educational activities, guest speakers, and, of course, animal time!
The Humane University summer camp program is vital to our mission by helping us raise funds to care for over 4,000 animals each year as well as educate the next generation on the principles of animal care and responsibility. If your child is interested in joining HSWM for summer camp visit our website to register and to find all of the different weekly themes – everything from Media Mutts to Animal Careers to Zoology and more! In a period of difficulty and social distancing, we hope this allows us to come together a little bit more! We are excited to see your child – virtually – at camp this summer!
