Behavior Consultations

One reason an animal comes to Humane Society of West Michigan is because of their behaviors. Many of the behaviors can be alleviated or modified through altering the environment, teaching the animals alternative behaviors and by educating the owners.

We currently offer varieties of behavioral counseling to help you with specific areas of concern.

Offsite Behavior Consults

These consults can be held at your home or another location other than Humane Society of West Michigan's campus. This option is ideal for behaviors your dog only shows in a certain location. An additional $1.50 per mile outside a 20-mile radius of HSWM’s address will be charged after sign-up is complete.

Onsite Behavior Consults

These consults are held at Humane Society of West Michigan. This option is ideal for behaviors your dog or cat shows at any location.

Virtual Behavior Consults

This consult option is held virtually on Microsoft Teams! This gives you the opportunity for you and your dog or cat to meet with our Behavior Specialist in the comfort of your own home.
