Summer Camps 2025


Humane Society of West Michigan knows the importance of educating children through experience. We offer camps throughout the year to educate children on animal welfare, as well as giving them an enjoyable experience. Through games, crafts, animal time, guest speakers, and more your child will learn life lessons and have a fun filled experience that will be with them for a lifetime!

Every summer camp will include daily animal interaction, crafts, guest speakers, games and activities!
Camps run 9am-4pm. Aftercare is 4-5pm.
Preview week and Kids Week Out are daily or weekly.
All other camps are one weeklong without day options.

Preview Week!: June 2nd - June 5th
These camps are a preview of four of our more popular camps. Each camp will contain elements of the weeklong camps as well as crafts, games, guest speakers, and animal time!!!
  • Ages; varies depending on day.
  • Monday – Humane Hearts ages 7-12
  • Tuesday – ‘Fun’draising ages 7-15
  • Wednesday – Media Mutts ages 7-13
  • Thursday – JR/Vet Camp ages 5-15
  • Cost $50 per day

Kids Week Out: June 9th - June 12th
This camp is an exciting and educational camp designed to teach children about animal welfare, responsible pet care, and the importance of compassion and kindness toward animals. Through fun activities, hands-on experiences, and interactions with adoptable pets, campers will develop a deeper understanding of animals and their needs while having a great time! Campers can sign up for one, two, three or all days!!
  • Ages 5-15
  • Cost: $65 per day or $250 for the whole week 9-4pm daily

Humane Hearts June 16th - June 19th
This camp is an educational and interactive program designed to teach children about animal welfare, compassion, and the mission of the Humane Society. The camp combines hands-on activities, creative projects, and learning experiences to inspire a sense of responsibility toward animals and their well-being.
  • Ages 7-12
  • Cost $250, Mon-Thurs, 9am-4pm daily

Paws and Puzzles: June 23rd – June 26th
This camp, focusing on training and enrichment, is a dynamic and hands-on program designed to teach children about animal welfare, responsible pet ownership, and the importance of enrichment and training for animals. Through interactive activities, demonstrations, and creative projects, kids develop empathy, understanding, and practical skills for caring for animals.
  • Ages 7-13
  • Cost $250, Mon-Thurs, 9am-4pm daily

Paw Patrol: June 30th - July 3rd
This camp is a fun and educational program designed to teach kids important skills for interacting with animals safely, providing proper pet care, and understanding animal welfare. Through a combination of hands-on activities, games, and animal interactions, campers will learn to become responsible, compassionate pet owners and advocates.
  • Ages 5-15
  • Cost $250. Mon-Thurs, 9am-4pm daily

Media Mutts: July 7th - July 10th
This camp is an exciting program where children combine their passion for animals with music, drama, and creative expression. Through role-playing, songwriting, and video production, kids create engaging music videos that promote animal welfare while learning teamwork, performance skills, and the importance of caring for animals.
  • Ages 7-13
  • Cost $250, Mon-Thurs, 9am-4pm daily

Junior Vet camp: July 14th – July 17th
This STEM dramatic play camp is a creative and educational experience designed for younger campers, who are interested in animals and veterinary care. This camp incorporates imaginative play with hands-on activities to teach kids about animal health, basic veterinary practices, and compassion for pets.
  • Ages 5-10
  • Cost $250, Mon-Thurs, 9am-4pm daily

‘FUN’draising : July 21st - July 24th
This camp is a creative and interactive program designed to teach children about the importance of helping others, entrepreneurship, and community engagement. Through role-playing and hands-on activities, kids learn how to organize and manage a fundraiser while developing teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. Campers will make artisan and craft items and sell them in a public marketplace, at the humane society, on july 24th.
  • Ages 7-15
  • Cost $250, Mon-Thurs, 9am-4pm daily

Vet Camp: July 28th – July 31st
This camp offers an exciting opportunity for children and teens to learn about veterinary medicine, animal care, and the critical role veterinarians play in animal welfare. Through hands-on activities, interactive lessons, and exposure to real-life veterinary practices, campers will gain valuable insight into the world of animal health.
  • Ages 11-15
  • Cost $250, Mon-Thurs, 9am-4pm daily

Animal Planet Camp: August 4th – August 7th
This camp is an engaging and educational experience inspired by the love of animals and aligned with the mission of the Humane Society. The camp combines interactive learning, hands-on activities, and creative projects to teach children about animal care, advocacy, and conservation, all while fostering a sense of compassion and responsibility.
  • Ages 5-12
  • Cost $250, Mon-Thurs, 9am-4pm daily

Animal Advocates: August 11th – August 14th
This camp is a program designed to engage young animal lovers in meaningful service opportunities while teaching them about animal welfare, advocacy, and responsibility. This camp offers hands-on activities, educational workshops, and creative projects to help kids make a difference in the lives of shelter animals and their community.
  • Ages 7-12
  • Cost $250, Mon-Thurs, 9am-4pm daily

Kids Week Out: August 18th – August 21st
This camp is an exciting and educational camp designed to teach children about animal welfare, responsible pet care, and the importance of compassion and kindness toward animals. Through fun activities, hands-on experiences, and interactions with adoptable pets, campers will develop a deeper understanding of animals and their needs while having a great time! Campers can sign up for one, two, three or all days!!
  • Ages 5-15
  • Cost: $65 per day or $250 for the whole week 9-4pm daily

Fun Fridays! July 18th, August 22nd
Each month we will host a Fun Friday open to all campers registered for a 2025 summer camp. You will find this fun add-on at the check-out portion of your summer camp registration. Fun Fridays will be filled with animal time, guest speakers, carnival games and prizes, treats and water fun!!!!
  • Ages 5-15
  • Cost $50
  • Runs 9-4pm
Aftercare; Daily from 4-5pm. During aftercare we will have art supplies available for the campers. This is a service for parents who work later than 4pm or need extra time to pick up their campers. We will provide an aftercare snack.
​Cost: $10 per day
