Private Adoptions

Rehoming your animal is never an easy decision to make and surrendering your animal to a shelter can be intimidating. Our private adoption service is for private adoptions only, a resource to help your pet stay in your home until it finds it's forever family.

What happens when you use our Private Adoption service?
  • Your pet will be listed on the Humane Society of West Michigan's website including your email and phone number.
  • You will need to update Humane Society of West Michigan if your animal finds a new home or no longer needs to be listed. After 30 days if we have not heard from you (email privateadoptions@hswestmi.org) the post will be deleted.
